👩‍🌾 Farmer Pedro Velázquez

Like most of the residents of La Soledad, Don Pedro was born into a family of small coffee growers, owns a small plot of one hectare that works respecting the natural conditions of the land, on the slopes of the mountains of La Sierra de Chiapas, within the Soconusco area.

La Soledad is a beautiful place hidden within the mountains' majesty and the clouds' beauty at approximately 1700 meters above the sea level. To get there, it is necessary to cross rivers and narrow walk-up paths until reaching this paradise, rich in volcanic soil, with an ideal climate and vegetation to obtain coffee with spectacular flavor and quality.

Coffee arrived in Chiapas through Guatemala thanks to the influence of the first farms of European immigrants who, at the beginning of the 19th century, introduced the cultivation to the entire Soconusco area, including the slopes of the Tacaná volcano, bordering between these two countries. Coffee trees are found on the slopes of the mountains, on steep terrain, and in the shade, respecting the environment's biodiversity, which adds a special value to such valuable crops.

👩‍🌾 Farmer José Francisco Bartolón Vázquez.

José Francisco is a young coffee farmer, a native of Ejido Chanjalé, who inherited the land for cultivation and the knowledge and love of working in the coffee plantations. He owns a small two-hectare plot that works respecting the environment's biodiversity, on rugged land mountains of La Sierra de Chiapas, within the Soconusco area.

Chanjalé is a beautiful town in the upper area of the municipality of Tapachula, Chiapas, at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level, which, added to the richness of its soils and privileged climate, make it an ideal place for the cultivation of coffee of excellent quality and flavor.
