👩🌾 Coffee farmer -Porfirio Vázqez Pérez
Porfirio Vázquez Pérez is a small producer with a plot of just 3 hectares in Chespal Nuevo's town in the Municipality of Tapachula, within the beautiful area of Soconusco in Chiapas.
The producers of this community work hard on steep terrain, which makes their everyday work more difficult. Despite these conditions, they achieve harvests with excellent quality fruits that bring delicious coffee in the cup.
Coffee arrived in Chiapas through Guatemala. At the beginning of the 19th century, European immigrants introduced the cultivation to the entire Soconusco area. Coffee trees are found on the slopes of the mountains, on steep terrain, and in the shade, taking care of the environment's biodiversity, which provides an exceptional value to such valuable crops.
